A Quick Reality Check
Insurance coverage for DBT varies widely. Even when coverage exists, it often comes with:
Session limits
High deductibles
Partial reimbursement
Because of this, many clients choose self-pay for consistency and continuity of care.
Insurance can be tricky and confusion. Contact us and we can help you determine what your benefits will and will not cover.
-
Insurance reimbursement often does not cover the true cost of providing comprehensive DBT-informed care. Components like skills classes and between session coaching calls are not approved expenses.
Additionally, our therapists value their time with clients and researching best practices over spending hours on the phone fighting with insurance companies.
-
If your plan includes out-of-network benefits:
We provide a monthly superbill
You submit it to your insurance
Reimbursement (if approved) is sent directly to you
Helpful note:
Reimbursement amounts depend entirely on your plan, not the practice. -
We believe access to care matters.
A limited number of partial scholarships may be available for:
DBT skills groups
Short-term financial hardship
Availability varies and is not guaranteed, but we encourage you to ask.
Scholarships are set up for a limited period of time (typically 3 months) and renewal is based on progress toward goals, similar to academic scholarships.

Yes, pay using your credit card, HSA, or FSA account. Healthcare costs may be tax deductible. So, be sure to ask for your payment statements for additional savings.
You don’t need to figure this out alone.
We’re happy to talk through options and answer billing questions before you commit.

We also recommend using a service like Thrizer to submit your out-of-network claims for you. Thrizer saves you time, money and headaches, plus gives you options for how you would like to be reimbursed for your sessions with us.
